(populated galleries in red—more updates soon)
Croatia:
Split, including the streets thereof, Diocletian’s Palace, and day trips to Krka National Park (the waterfalls!) and Omis, a former pirate haven now appealing to adrenaline junkies of all sorts.
Dubrovnik, including the streets thereof, what we found at the top of Mt. Srd, and a fun e-scooter outing.
Bosnia & Herzogovina:
Mostar, including the streets thereof, its famous bridge, a Turkish house and a hammam, both of which are now museums.
Sarajevo, including stuff we saw during the most interesting and heartbreaking guided tour we’ve experienced since Amsterdam.
Jablonica, site of a storied WWII battle that involved a bridge being blown up just as a train was crossing it, and which now houses a funky, decrepit Communist-era museum, which I sort of loved but YMMV. I’m mostly sharing this so you can see it without having to actually go there.
