Look, any city you land in after Amsterdam is bound to be a come-down, but Berlin was rough. Buggy, sprawling and sort of charmless, it was still worth a visit if only for the history. But before we could write off Germany entirely, Bavaria swooped in to save the day. From the streets of Munich to the hills around Neuschwanstein, this is a place we’d go back to any chance we get.
