Adam and I got our Herriot on with a pilgrimage to the home of our favorite TV veterinarian James Herriot. We were about 20 years too late to meet him in person, which is probably good for him since I would have hugged him so hard he'd have keeled over and then I'd feel guilty.
From our trip to the Yorkshire Dales to the winding backroads of the Lake District, we had a lovely time meeting the sheep of Northern England in exotic locales like:
Hawes, the small town that served as our home base during our James Herriott pilgrimage.
Alf Wight’s veterinary practice and the James Herriott museum.
An awesome 13-mile hike we did with the kids through the Dales. It took us weeks to clean the sheep poop off our shoes!
An all-too-brief jaunt through the Lake District, in all its aggresively quaint glory.
